Alila Villas Uluwatu – The Sustainable Hotel in Bali
These images are from a relaxing residential and hotel complex on the southern coast of Bali (Indonesia), which has 34 villas and 40 hotel suites. The villas are organized by level-oriented and offers panoramic sea, the whole project being designed to be environmentally sustainable. The design is almost a blend of traditional Balinese architecture with modern spaces that take advantage of the natural wealth of the place, where pavilions lattices are shared between the sheets of water and gardens. Transitions between the garden and built parts are very suggestive and attractive, because a successful customer service. All materials are used for construction of the site, or the island of Java, both the stones of the walls, such as coconut wood and bamboo, even to local craftsmen who have worked on some of the beautiful ornaments. Alila Villas Uluwatu is the first hotel in Bali to receive the highest level of certification for environmentally sustainable design (ESD), apart from the use of local materials, these are some of the green features of the hotel:

Recycling greywater for reuse in plants and toilets, and other waste water is inserted into the greywater system
