Mountain house design by Zigzag Architecture

Casino and Bernardo David Angelini of Zigzag Architecture designed this house for a large family consisting of 10 adults and 8 children, who sought a refuge to escape the city and meet occasionally but frequently. In the privileged environment of a green valley in Asturias, near the River Sella, the architects have created a “mountain with eyes that want to capture the landscape.” In an exercise almost mimicry, the building has been designed as a volume of irregular shape and appearance resembling mountain just to the surrounding environment. The housing collapse has also earthy look, and its design has taken into account the local rules requiring a minimum of three waters. Located in Soto de Diego (Asturias), and conceived as a home for occasional meetings of a large family of 18 members, house La Candela is a construction that not only takes the best of their surroundings, but is fully inspired in the mountains surround it.
