New Model Urban park in Bagheria, Palermo – Luca Bullaro

The park is located in the heart of the old Bagheria near the villas Palagonia Baroque princes, and Valguarnera Trabia.
The project includes the reconfiguration of the adjacent tracks, the system of public parks and sidewalks, extending his section to encourage citizens to walk through the center of Bagheria.

The shape of the interior tours of the garden comes from a study of pedestrian flows and the desire to create a system of trails winding around the large trees.
The roads converge at some points, widening to set off small areas, benches and fountains accompany the different routes.

The areas around the parking lots are paved with stone pieces Billiemi gray, the interior floor of the routes is small river rocks, typical of traditional construction area Bagheria.
The project aims to reinterpret the theme of using traditional paving materials and colors typical of western Sicily, but applying unprecedented geometries and patterns.

The concrete retaining walls in the green areas are bent to form banks, covered with pieces of travertine, beneath which are hidden points of light that create a light at ground level.
The hexagonal fountain at the intersection of the three main routes, has the bottom lined with river stones of gray. From the bank, cantilevered over the water surface, it generates a loud waterfall.
