Getxo marina is a fragile platform consistency, a series of buildings that meet the leisure economy, which have alternating facades and less attractive depending on their function. This has resulted in some confusion between the use and location in the heart of the Bay of Abra.
The land on which we are at the end of the Port, facing the ramp that leads down to the mouth of the estuary into the sea. Between the curved breakwater enclosing the marina and the pier that ends at the lighthouse Arriluze.
Proposal aims to generate a serene, with the sea and boats as the protagonists, trying to forget, at least in this part, the existing disorder … and propose the horizon, the lighthouse and the masts like visual motif.
The first decision was to separate the program into two volumes that have the mission, along with the asphalt mat on which to settle, to generate an intense outdoor space that enhances the opportunities given its privileged position. The pieces will seek to establish a “dialogue far” that relates more to the surrounding landscape with elements that are built nearby.
The exact places in which each part is conditioned because both depend on the ramp leading down to water, as areas for boats must be closely linked to the ramp, making it possible movement of the boat ramp to buildings and vice versa.
The prisms on the carpet looking for brothers to the sea and silence, leaving behind the ‘noise’ of the entertainment center. The set comes complete with an almost theatrical lighting at night, emphasizing its abstract nature.
