Prince of Wales hotel closes for renovations
The four-star Parisian Prince of Wales will close, on 15 February, to allow for renovations. These work scope will be led by interior designer Pierre-Yves Rochon. The rooms, suites, lobby, reception and rooms will be renovated. The Regency Bar and Le Jardin des Cygnes will be transformed while the Patio regain a central role in the hotel. The work will also create a brand new fitness room and Welfare, and a new Presidential Suite on the 9th floor with private lift, terrace and panoramic views. These renovations come as the openings of luxury hotels in Paris are going to multiply by 2012. Already, the Royal Monceau and Shangri-La (Also decorated by Pierre-Yves Rochon) join the list of high-end hotels in the capital. This list will be completed by next summer by the Mandarin Oriental Paris and in 2012 by Peninsula.
