A glass cube bathed in light and surrounded by the sublime landscape of Stony Lake in Kawarthas. So the architects have devised GH3 Canadian ideal home for a photographer who also uses his home as a workplace. Surely a house and studio to live and work in the countryside.
A Canadian Lake Stony Lake, and built on a granite stone, William’s Studio has been designed as a transparent cube built on a black box that houses the pier. Only in a place so lonely might consider a house without visual boundaries between inside and outside, where the landscape seems to be the only limit to housing.
The construction is intended as a showcase to the north light, diffuse light like photographers. The double spaces enhance the natural lighting, which can fade with automatic blinds opaque, if necessary. The glass facade also has a ventilation system thanks to the glass panels of the facade can be moved.
Inside, the double-height main room houses the dining and lounge areas, while private rooms are bedroom and bathroom in the attic suspended from the first floor, and can also be closed with sliding translucent panels in case you need privacy. The small white contemporary furniture, distributed neatly on a dark floor, all the prominence given to the kings of this house, light and landscape.
