The house of a couple of interior designers in Brooklyn

In a duplex occupying the first two floors of a traditional house, the interior Lyndsay Caleo and Fitzhugh Karol have created their eclectic home, a cozy apartment that mixes contemporary design pieces, retrieved old items, and furniture created by the designers.
Lyndsay Caleo is a jewelry designer, as well as interior. And Fitzhugh Karol, also interior designer, specializes in creating wooden furniture that he built in his workshop. The staff of this unique couple home reflects her passion for eclectic interiors.
Located in the first two floors of a traditional four-storey house in the heart of Brooklyn, the duplex was geared towards the backyard of the apartment, opening a large double-height windows that flood of natural light. On the upper floor is located the main space, which includes living room, kitchenette and a small loft. All integrated and intermingled in a single space that nevertheless avoids any traditional minimalist design.
The rooms on the lower floor, are in the darkest part of the house. They have taken advantage of windows overlooking the inner courtyard of this plant to install next to them a second living room furnished with auxiliary pieces of wood built by Karol himself.
Throughout the apartment are elements designed and built by themselves interior designers, such as wood canopy bed and Karol sculpture over the fireplace, or reclaimed vintage pieces, such as the bathroom door or the old toilets. Even the older items from the house itself, such as fireplaces or wood beams have been kept by the interior Karol Caleo and his personal property.
