The model of CECIJEMA Cultural Center by Rojas Pizarro Arquitectos
Immersed in an enviable environment both physical and cultural beauty, the new Cultural Centre Cecijema (civil association and INAH subsidiary body whose main objective is the promotion and dissemination of pre-Hispanic and contemporary Mayan culture) located in the tourist center of the archaeological site at Coba Maya Quintana Roo, modestly seek to merge with the landscape and take root in it, not wanting to be actors but by becoming an extension.
The proposal seeks to be clear and simple and is manifested by a contemporary language with warm materials, itself consists of two walls, a platform and a deck. The platform floor trowel to keep the pre-existing-while-giving presence to the building is developed as a “table” of wooden planks that overflows to the outside by way of stairs that invite visitors to come and enjoy it. The walls are lined with blocks or blocks of stone in the region, cut and placed on a small scale, enclosed nature and captivate the user.
The program needs this outlet shopping and cultural focus and service are condensed into exhibition areas.
