War and Remembrance the city of Berlin by Sammlung Boros art lair
When thinking about the city of Berlin can not fail to associate it with inevitable war and destruction, to walk by it, we note that the traces of war remain to this day many of the facades of their buildings, interspersed empty constant in your image urban and those cranes that are already part of the cityscape accompanied by annoying noises buildings remind us at every moment that Berlin is a city with a daily struggle to lift what the war destroyed.
But just as many buildings fell to turn many remained, this is why I was interested in finding a surviving remnant of the war and still in effect embedded within the city, built some trace of this episode that marks the history. This is how I found the case of the “Gallery Boros” (Sammlung Boros) a former bunker of World War II in the heart of the city, used by the Red Army to guard against air strikes today and not secure people, if not precious works of art, an example that I find extremely interesting and curious and I like them about continuing the theme of how to preserve the history of a city built on the old.
Sammlung Boros The project was developed by the office of architects RealArchitektur in cooperation with the customer and an interdisciplinary team. The program theme is based on combining art, live, old and new.
The design process has been based mainly on the abduction, slabs and walls have been removed to make way for new spaces that connect the floors overlapping in vertical direction.
